Candidate for VP Internal

JESSICA MACAULAY

Welcome to your democratic process. Whether you are a first time voter or a seasoned veteran, you need to know how important you are to the election. Without you there would be no need for a Students’ Association, or a V. P. Internal.  Naturally, I would prefer that you vote for me, but the crucial thing is that you get informed and vote!

The V.P. Internal looks after the needs and issues of students and ensures that there is a place on campus for every student to be represented; from Clubs and Societies to the Peer Support Centre. On top of getting students involved and active The V.P. Internal also has the responsibility of rewarding and recognizing committed students at the annual E Awards.

I have been an active volunteer for the Students’ Association for a year and a half, one of my largest commitments has been with the Peer Support Centre. From this experience I was able to meet students and gain insight into their lives. This helped me in creating the Peer Support For Student Parents group and The Student Sexual Awareness & Information Service. I would be able to put this organizational experience to work for students, in creating or improving services to fill gaps within the college community.

I am also an Academic Counselor and represent Social Work students on the Program Advisory Committee. I feel that I have a strong knowledge and experience base when it comes to representing students and their needs.

As V.P. Internal I would do whatever I could to ensure that all students feel that they have a voice within this college. My first priority as V.P. Internal would be to get students Informed, Aware, Involved and Recognized.
