Candidate for VP Internal | ||||
STEPHANIE REA The position of VP Internal is a student-based position. It involves listening to students, being approachable and welcome to new ideas. As VP Internal, it would be my responsibility to ensure that all students have the opportunity to be active participants in their college experience. The college and the Students’ Association are rapidly expanding, and as the leading Students’ Association in Canada the possibilities for further growth and development are immense. I will focus my energy on getting students involved, whether it be in awareness campaigns, volunteering, or participating in activities they feel passionate about. I will maintain open communication with students, I will motivate student leaders to take active roles, I will be an outspoken voice for quality education through provincial representation and at Mount Royal, and I will help restructure council to effectively represent clubs and societies. I have the experience to effectively accomplish the goals of VP Internal. I am the Publishing Editor for the Reflector and have worked with the paper for three years. I am the Vice President of the Journalist and Wordsmith Society, and have worked with the society in some capacity for a number of years. I sit on Academic Council and am aware of issues within the college and of the concerns that students have. I have participated in and continue to contribute to events such as the Montreal Massacre Memorial, National Day of Action, Anti-Hatred Week, and the Tuition Freeze Campaign. All these experiences have made my time at Mount Royal memorable and enjoyable. I wish that all students could be as lucky as I am. If you are looking for someone who can be energetic and enthusiastic about events at the college, who will motivate students to
volunteer at the Native Student Centre, with the Outreach Programs and the Peer Support Centre to name a few, and who will
always listen with an open mind, then vote Stephanie Rea for VP Internal.
