Candidate for VP Internal

JEFF BEDDOME

The Students’ Association of Mount Royal College Vice President Internal is a student representative who will advocate, voice, and drive for change as you, the student, of MRC find necessary.

I, Jeff Beddome feel that my four years of college experience and ambition to drive for change are qualities that make me YOUR ideal VP Internal.

Education Experience: As a student I spent my first two and a half years hanging out with friends and thinking that what I was doing was college life! Well what I’ve experienced in the last year, is that really, I have wasted half my experience at college by not being involved with the SA and associated events.

Team Attitude: Since I was a child I have always found working in a group a more enjoyable and memorable experience. Sharing and using others as a soundboard has become one of my strongest leadership behaviours, and I feel will benefit the executive of the SA next year.

SA Experience: In my year and a half involvement with the SA including Presidency of the Recreation Studies Students’ Society, this experience has given me the opportunity to hear from members and other executives. These executives felt that their events deserved better publication and I worked hard on Students’ Council to see that these causes received the attention they deserved.

Leadership Experience: As mentioned, being President, I could not let a title get in the way of group input and participation, these are key to having a successful working student body; however, knowing when to use judgement and leadership are integral components for VP Internal.

Ambition to Drive for Change: If it ain’t broke, break it! I feel this phrase is very important for VP Internal to maintain integrity and drive for change. As President of Recreation Studies Students’ Society I have been working in a team environment to change the reputation of the society as it had an over hanging black cloud. Processes that have been implemented this academic year have been: regular meeting schedules with agendas and purpose, open lines of communication and the development of activities.

On March 13, 14 and 15, 2000 come out and vote for Jeff Beddome VP Internal.
