ELECTION PLATFORM:

Engaging, energetic, experienced, building on the strengths of last years campaign, and looking into the future of students at Mount Royal College (MRC), I have become even more excited about the potential of the Students’ ’Association (SA), it'’ role on Campus and in the lives of students. Post-secondary education, and the Campus of Mount Royal, must be more recognized at the Provincial funding level. Reduced tuition will not become a reality until this happens. To this end, I will continue the fight to ease the burden on your student dollars. Many successes have been achieved in the last year and I am proud to have been apart of that. I am committed to building on these successes with fresh and innovative ideas. Awareness of issues and events that affect your college life have been communicated more effectively than ever before. As President, I will continue to seek the student voice and keep you informed amidst your hectic class and work schedules. Your time is valuable, therefore, I am also committed to improving the delivery of your Health and Dental services. As well, the walls have been torn down between the SA and the College Administration, including the Board of Governors. This has opened up the doors to negotiate an expanded Student Centre. This was one of my primary goals, and to see it achieved brings not only joy, but heart felt relief. This, however, is by no means a done deal. I have the desire and motivation to continue this work in progress in order to best serve the diverse needs of students at Mount Royal. The successes of this past year can only be improved upon. I am committed to see this through. Leadership is service, and I am here to serve and work for you. Please consider the candidates, and exercise your democratic right.
