GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION

Both Students' Council and Executive elections are held in February or March of each year. Nomination forms can be picked up at the SA Offices, located in room Z201 in Wyckham House, usually starting in early February.

A "Notice of Elections" will be posted in Wyckham House prior to any election. The "Notice of Elections" outlines all deadlines and voting periods. All students in good standing may currently vote in the SA elections, so a valid Student ID card must be shown before you can cast your ballot.

Nominations: Nomination forms for all positions are available at Reception in Room Z201 in Wyckham House.

EXECUTIVE AND COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Executive Elections:

Each year, Students’ Association members elect students to serve on the Executive Committee. As a student of Mount Royal College you have the right to vote in the Students' Association Annual Elections.

Once elected, these four students serve from May 1 of the year that they were elected to May 15 of the following year, allowing for a two-week overlap between incoming and outgoing Executive members. Each Executive member is a full-time, paid employee of the Students' Association and must take one course per semester (excluding the Spring and Summer terms), maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher, and keep full-time office hours.

Students' Council Elections:

Students' Council is the decision making body of the Students' Association. Councillors are elected every Spring. The current structure of Council includes students from the general population, elected by their program peers to represent them, as well as representatives from five underrepresented populations. The operations of Council are directed by four elected student representatives who form the Executive Committee.
