Born many
years ago under an auspicious moon in a distant region of this
world known as “Toronto,” Elizabeth has spent the majority of
her life learning, loving, and following the path less
traveled…
Many years
ago, Elizabeth moved to Calgary and enrolled as a student at
the small yet promising post-secondary institution of Mount
Royal College. Since then, Mount Royal has been transformed
into a truly distinguished educational facility that is well
on its way to becoming a nationally recognized undergraduate
university.
Elizabeth’s
involvement with SAMRC began when she learned of, and promptly
became a regular patron of, the vibrant social and educational
culture that is the Liberty Lounge. Following this
introduction to SAMRC, Liz has seen the organization grow and
prosper as a proud and truly reputable association, as
evidenced by the current expansion of our beloved student
centre, Wyckham House.
Deciding to
become more involved with Students’ Association of Mount Royal
College, and thanks to her mainly positive experiences with
the SA thus far, Liz became a member of Academic Council and
the Student Welcoming and Awareness Team, (AKA: “SWAT”). Soon
one thing led to another, and Elizabeth was elected to the
position of Vice-President of Student Life for SAMRC where she
works to further the development of a strong and proud campus
community by tirelessly representing student interests to the
various of boards and committees that operate within the
college, as well as through a plethora of student-oriented
programs, events, and activities.
In addition
to rescuing kittens from trees and lost souls from turmoil,
Elizabeth McKeown enjoys being an advocate for students and
empowering them to achieve their goals and fulfill their
dreams. |
