Access Ability Centre

The AccessAbility Centre (AAC) provides resources, information and support for students with disabilities, plus awareness-raising for the larger community.

Help us organize and administer the many programs and services designed to assist students in need. If you are looking for a place to meet other students with disabilities, or if you’re interested in disability awareness on campus, the AccessAbility Centre might be the place for you.

What programs do we offer?

Game Day
Love board games? Looking for a place to hang out in between classes? Need a place to meet new people? Drop in to our game day!

ADHD Support Circle
Do you live with ADD or ADHD? This is a chance to chat with others about the experience, share coping strategies and just generally hang out and relax. Coffee and tea provided. Drop in!

Revolutionary Art
Come and knit, crochet, rug hook, paint, scrap book, or learn how. Coffee and tea provided; bring your own supplies. Hint: if you have ADD or ADHD, knitting can be a great way to focus your mind in lectures!

Movie Night and Discussion
Free movie and popcorn! Every Thursday Terry Butz will be playing a movie related to disabilities. He will play anything from A Beautiful Mind to Awakenings to Murderball. Have a movie suggestion? Let us know at (403) 440-7792. Come watch with us and then afterwards stay for a discussion.

Disability Simulation Day
Experience A Day In The Life of A Person With A Disability
Ever wonder what it is like to live with a disability? Want to open your eyes to the challenges that some people face every day? Spend a couple hours experiencing these challenges first hand, and gain a bit of in-site into the every day lives of people with disabilities.
